Is a Lip Blushing consultation required?
Important Information for All New PMU Clients:
- Photos: Please upload clear photos of your lips when booking online or email photos to contact@dermaluxe.leadcroc.dev within 24 hours of booking.
This allows us to review your lips and prepare for your appointment. - Consultation: While an in-person consultation isn’t always necessary, it is required before booking, If you have been previously treated by another artist.
- Deposit Policy: Please note: If you arrive for your appointment and we determine that we cannot proceed with the service due to previous work done elsewhere (and a consultation has not been performed), your deposit will be forfeited.

Before Your Lip Blushing Appointment
LIPS:
- No lip injections/fillers in the past 6 weeks
- Drink plenty of water
- Bring your favorite lipstick and or lip liner with you (for color reference)
- If you are prone to cold sores/fever blisters you must get an antiviral prescription from your primary care physician. You must start taking this 2 days before the procedure. Please bring proof of your prescription the day of procedure. No exceptions.
- Please ensure your lips are well-moisturized and not excessively dry (peeling) before your appointment. If you are experiencing these issues, please contact us to reschedule your appointment.
After Your Lip Blushing Appointment
Healing varies based on the individual and the area treated. Following the aftercare instructions provided to you on the day of your appointment is essential for optimal healing.
During the first 10 days of healing after getting permanent makeup, it’s important to avoid the following:
- Touching the Area: Avoid touching the treated area with your hands to prevent infection.
- Picking or Scratching: Do not pick, scratch, or rub the scabs or flakes to avoid pigment loss and scarring.
- Water Exposure: Keep the area dry; avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas, and long showers.
- Sweating: Minimize activities that cause heavy sweating, such as intense workouts, as sweat can interfere with healing.
- Makeup: Avoid applying makeup on or near the treated area to prevent contamination and irritation.
- Skincare Products: Refrain from using creams, lotions, exfoliants, or other skincare products on the treated area unless recommended by your artist.
- Sun Exposure: Protect the area from direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds, as UV rays can cause fading and irritation.
- Sleeping on the Face: Try not to sleep on your face to prevent rubbing and pressure on the treated area.
- Alcohol and Caffeine: Limit alcohol and caffeine consumption, as they can thin the blood and delay the healing process.
- Facial Treatments: Avoid facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, and other cosmetic procedures that could affect the treated area.

The duration varies depending on the area being treated and the complexity of the design. Typically, a session can last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours.

Over time, the color may fade slightly, but it remains subtle and natural. To maintain the vibrancy, many clients opt for a touch-up session every 1 to 2 years. Factors such as sun exposure, skincare routines, and individual skin healing can influence how long the color stays, so proper aftercare is key to maximizing the longevity of your results.
Are touch-ups necessary?
Yes, touch-ups are often necessary for permanent makeup. The initial application may not achieve the desired color intensity, so a touch-up helps fine-tune the pigment. Some areas may fade more quickly than others, and a touch-up ensures even color distribution. Adjustments may also be needed to perfect the shape and symmetry. Additionally, touch-ups help maintain the appearance over time, as all permanent makeup gradually fades. We recommend a touch-up within 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure, with maintenance touch-ups every 1-2 years depending on the individual’s skin type and lifestyle.
Can you fix previous permanent makeup done elsewhere?
It depends on the individual whether we can fix permanent makeup done elsewhere. In most cases, we are able to help, but at times we may not accept clients. Several factors come into play, including the number of sessions previously done, the placement of ink (wrong shape, out of lip line, or eyeliner blowout), the color of the ink used (unnatural colors like blue, green, or purple), and the saturation (too dark). Not every client is a candidate for corrections, and in some cases, removal may be required before any further work can be done. If there is too much scar tissue, residual color, or hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation even after removal, we will not offer additional permanent makeup services. Each situation is unique, and a thorough consultation is necessary to determine the best course of action.
What are the Lip Blushing Contradictions?
Active Herpes Simplex Virus (Cold Sores): Increases the risk of outbreaks and complications during healing.
Recent Lip Fillers: A proper healing period of six weeks is required after lip injections.
Chronic Dry/Chapped Lips: Dry, chapped lips make it difficult to achieve smooth, even pigment application. This condition can lead to poor pigment retention, uneven results, increased irritation, prolonged healing, and a higher risk of infection.
